Internet Stop Smoking Study

Video: How the program helped.

Ready to stop smoking? Let us help!

eHealth Studies is a research arm of Oregon Research Institute, a non-profit research institute, that is conducting a stop smoking study with funding from the U.S. National Cancer Institute (based in the U.S. National Institutes of Health).

This study is designed to help us learn more about what works best for different types of smokers.

Here are the 3 steps to become involved:
  1. Step #1:

Begin by answering a few online questions to see if you are eligible.

  2. Step #2:

If eligible, you’ll learn more details about the study and be able to enroll.

  3. Step #3:

If you agree to enroll, you’ll be randomly assigned (by chance) to receive one of two best-practices stop smoking programs: One designed for you to use on your desktop computer, and the other program works only on your smartphone. Either way, your program will be:

    • Free
    • Easy to use
    • Available anytime
    • Confidential and private

Because this is a research project, you’ll be asked to complete online surveys at both 3 and 6 months from the start of the study.

These programs will help you build an online action plan of practical strategies to quit smoking that is right for you.

Your success in any stop smoking program cannot be guaranteed.
